duckduckgo-mcp

MCP server that exposes DuckDuckGo search to Javis via three tools:

• ddg_search — general web search (titles, URLs, snippets)
• ddg_news — recent news articles
• ddg_answers — quick lookups; DuckDuckGo removed its instant-answer API, so this returns the top 3 web results

Searches run in a worker thread (the server stays responsive), and failures such as DuckDuckGo rate limits are returned as MCP tool errors (isError: true), so clients don't mistake or cache them as results. All tools are annotated readOnlyHint / openWorldHint.

Setup

run.bat

The batch script creates a .venv, installs dependencies, and launches the server over stdio.
